The Who recorded their landmark rock opera Tommy in 1969, and from that album “Pinball Wizard” went on to become an enduring classic. This solid version for jazz ensemble gives each section a feature spot on the melody, interspersed with the full band on the hard-hitting chorus. A written or ad lib. solo is included for tenor sax.
